A survey has been conducted in the United Kingdom about cinema admissions and television licensees over the period 1957 to 1974. The purpose of the survey was to discover the changes of the popularity of cinema and television in this period.
According to the graph, it can be seen that the trend was towards a decrease in the popularity of the cinema. There was a dramatic fall in the number of cinema admissions from 1957, when about 900 million people went, to 1959, when the attendance figure was roughly 550 million.
